ShiftBud is a randon looping generitave MIDI sequencer based on the eurorack module Turing Machine by Tom Whitwell.
It can generate random MIDI notes or CC values.
You can lock the sequencer in a desired length if you rotate the Chaos knob fully left or right.
If you introduce chaos to the sequencer, it occasionaly flips and generates beatiful melodies.
With high amount of chaos, the it will generate random non-repeating values.
You can generate MIDI CC values and modulate your synth parameters.
It acts like a clocked Sample and Hold module which is great for modulating synth parameters like filter cutoff or resonance.
You can set a lower bound and a higher bound for the generated CC value.
ShiftBud's music theory engine offers more than 110 scales.
You can also use your custom scales that you created in ScaleBud 2!
You can lock the sequencer notes in a scale and change the scale even when the sequencer is running.
The sequencer can run in very wide range from whole notes to 64th notes.
ShiftBud also offers dotted and triplet sequencer rate options as well.
ShiftBud runs as standalone app as well as AUv3 MIDI Plugin.
You can create AU presets and use AU parameters of the AUv3 plugin.
ShiftBud offers more than 10 AU parameters where you can control or even automate every single parameter.
The standalone version of ShiftBud supports Ableton Link.
